Man killed in Derry road accident

A pedestrian has been killed in a car crash in Co Derry in the early hours of this morning.

The 23-year-old man was struck by a car on the Racecourse Road at around 2.20am.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old youth has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries following a single-car crash on the Newtonhamilton Road in Co Armagh.

Another 17-year-old and a 15-year-old girl have also been taken to hospital, but their injuries are not life-threatening.
